Our theme this month was Inclusive Education. A very wonderful presentation was given by Lisa Horswell who discussed the continum of support in SD57. The continum of support is the model the District uses to solve student learning and behavioral challenges. This model uses a three tier team based approach to problem solving and providing supports for students that need them. Supports can be available right in the classroom, through the school based team or through the extended school based team. The District’s extended school based team which offers tier three support includes an Occupational Therapist, a Speech Therapist and a Mental Health Clinician.
