From IEP Goals to Real Life: Supporting Your Child Without Turning Home Into School

Our DPAC is pleased to share an upcoming parent workshop

From IEP Goals to Real Life: Supporting Your Child Without Turning Home Into School

📅 Date: Thursday, February 19, 2026
⏰ Time: 6:30–8:00 pm
📍 Location: Live on Zoom (link below)

IEP goals are written for school, but families live in many contexts. This parent-friendly workshop helps families translate IEP goals into realistic support at home, and introduces how AI can be used as a supportive tool to help parents generate ideas and plan next steps.

In this session, parents and caregivers will:

  • better understand what IEP goals may actually be asking for
  • identify one or two meaningful priorities that make sense at home
  • explore practical, low-pressure ways to support learning without added stress
  • learn ethical ways AI can support parent planning and thinking
  • have time for questions and discussion

The session is facilitated by Carly Eirikson, who works in inclusive education and school leadership and has experience supporting families as a learning support teacher and educational consultant.

This workshop is intended to be supportive and informative. It does not replace therapy, medical advice, or school-based decision-making, and does not include individual consultation.
