As parents may be aware, school districts may now change school calendars without the permission of the Ministry of Education.
There appears to be discussion at at least one school in this district about moving to an all year calendar:
We are exploring the idea of modifying the school calendar at Lac des Bois. Your opinions are important to us. This would involve a reorganization of the traditional school year to one where programs for students are more evenly distributed throughout the year. We feel this would benefit our students learning and retention in a French Immersion environment. Your input is very important to us.
