There are two opportunities for educational discussions on various topics on Friday and Saturday:
- on Friday, October 19th, from 7pm to 9pm, we will be having a short tour of Duchess Park school, refreshments, and a Graduation Requirements Dialogue, facilitated by Cindy Heitman and Mike McDiarmid. This dialogue will help to inform the development of future graduation requirements, and address questions such as what students should know and understand by the time they leave school, and how student learning could be communicated to parents. All parents are welcome to attend at no cost, we do ask that you let us know in advance by emailing chair@sd57dpac.ca.
- Jane Thornthwaite, the Parliamentary Secretary for Student Support and Parent Engagement, will be speaking at the BCCPAC Northern Regional Conference on Saturday, October 20th. We have been asked to communicate to our members that she would also be available for conversations with parents, during this time, should anyone have concerns to bring her.
